How to Deposit Tokens to a Strategy
Strategies are used to secure Based Applications, the most common use cases of bApps are described on this page. Strategies are often created by node operators (not necessarily SSV node operators) that want to engage with bApps and earn rewards for securing them.
As a token holder, you can participate in the protocol by depositing your assets to strategies. Doing that will contribute to the security of bApps and allows you to earn a share of the strategy's rewards. You can read more about the Rewards for securing bApps.
The deposited tokens are considered a slashable asset and are exposed to inherent risk. As such you can expect the share of rewards to be bigger than what applies to non-slashable assets. For more information refer to this dedicated page.
1. Go to My Account page
Navigate to the SSV Webapp, login with your chosen wallet and click on My Account.
This page will display a list of depositable assets this wallet holds.
2. Select the asset to deposit
From the list of assets in the wallet, select the one to make a deposit with.
In this example, Hoodi ETH has been selected.
A list of strategies that support Hoodi ETH will be displayed.
Hovering your mouse cursor to the right of the one of the strategies listed, reveals a "Deposit" button. Click it to deposit.
3. Deposit Asset
A box will pop-up displaying the strategy that is being deposited to, the amount you currently have deposited, and an input box to select how much to deposit.
Enter an amount to deposit, and click the Deposit button.
A transaction will appear within your wallet that will need to be signed.
After signing, a pop-up will appear to indicate the transaction is being processed.
4. Verify asset is deposited
Once the transaction completes, navigate back to the My Account page, and click the drop-down for the asset deposited.
The strategy and amount deposited to will now show up here.
